Mourning and Dreaming High: con mucha fé.
Each print in the installation is printed over a page of an 18th century book of "Crimes and Misdemeanors" (1730). This installation talks about the "Dreamers", children and young adults that were brought into the US by their parents or other relatives and made this country their home despite being undocumented. These people have lived most of their lives in the USA and it is the only country they know as theirs even though they were born elsewhere. On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal. They were also eligible for work authorization. Many applied to DACA and came out of the shadows. Many didn't and still don't have documents that would allow them to have a normal life.
*Currently (2019) DACA is under review, and millions of people are waiting to hear form the Federal government.
